Travel to Resort/Liveaboard and First Dive Day!

I don’t even know where to start…the travel to the boat from the Philippine Domestic Flight to the resort and livabord was, to say the least, VERY interesting.

Let’s start with the flight….so we went back to the Manila airport with 14 people in tow. Finally we all got checked in at the ticket counter. When it was time to board the plane, we entered buses to the plane riding on the tarmac in 92 degree heat in the middle of the day. We were packed like sardines. When boarded the plan, to cool us off there was an ominous mist. It was crazy! But it did the job!

Once we landed on the Island of Cebu, we had a 45 minute journey through rush out traffic which consisted of LOTS of scooters, motorcycles and trikes (types of motorcycles that enclosed seating) on a no-lane road. Sorry no pictures. People drive like crazy and use their horns just to say, “I’m here)!

We got to the resort and had to walk down a path to get to the water and then we hopped on a couple of zodiacs to motor out to the liveaboard. We were up for at least 24 hours and were exhausted and went to bed.

When we woke up, it was time to dive at 6 am local time. Below are some pictures of our first dive.

I’ll send more pictures of dive day two and three soon. Until next time…… and next post.
