Diving with a Little Mambo No. 5: Scuba Laughs Below the Waves
There you are, submerged in the deep blue, with “Mambo No. 5” playing on repeat in your head. Let’s be honest, nothing sets the mood for diving quite like a catchy tune—unless that tune is your buddy shouting, “Where’s my other fin?”
A little drift diving? More like the ocean’s lazy river for the uncoordinated! You’re just gliding along, letting the current take you, while fish swim by thinking, “Look at this human—totally lost, possibly looking for the all-you-can-eat kelp buffet!” Just don’t get carried away; that seaweed doesn’t pay rent, and you don’t want to find yourself drifting toward the nearest jellyfish convention!
Now onto a little wreck diving. You approach a sunken ship, and instead of feeling like Indiana Jones, you’re more like that guy trying to remember where he parked the car after a night out! “Is it next to the old anchor or the giant clam?” You dive in, ready to discover treasures of the deep, only to find a pair of sunglasses from 1999 and an impressive collection of barnacles. “Hey look, an underwater fashion statement!”
Just remember, every time you think you’ve found gold, double-check—because more often than not, it’s just a rusty old can. “Ah yes, my trophy from the Trash Can Treasure Hunt!”
And as you explore, there’s always that moment when your mask fogs up, and you’re squinting through the murk. “A little bit of looking—wait, is that a shark or just my buddy’s bad haircut?” It’s all fun until you realize you’re doing more hiding than exploring!
So as you sway to the underwater beat of Mambo No. 5, laugh at the randomness of the dive—because in the end, whether you drift, wreck, or just float aimlessly, the best treasures are the laughs shared with your fellow divers!

Although you can barely make out the wreck due to the visibility through the abundance of life on the wreck. Here is another video to illustrate.
